The Invicta Dynamos racked up an astonishing 24 goals on Saturday evening as they breezed beyond a fourteen man Slough ENL Jets team 24-2.
The victory at the Hangar to was their third straight victory in the ENIHL South Division 1.
In the first frame it took the visitors seven minutes to break the deadlock but Justin Noble’s opener was the first in a glut of goals that would see the Dynamos lead 6-0 come the buzzer. The lively Canadian claimed four of the tally, securing a hat-trick in just two minutes and 53 seconds, whilst club captain Andy Smith put away a brace for the commanding edge.
In the second period the pace of scoring slowed for the guests but two strikes from Ryan Ellis, either side of a Daniel Fudger drive, took their lead to 9-0 before the ENL Jets finally mustered a reply. Nathan Darmanin broke Slough’s duck but his goal would be cancelled out ahead of the break when Ellis completed his hat-trick for the Dynamos to make it 10-1.
In the final frame the Canadian took his personal tally to four before Stuart Mogg then beat replacement netminder Lee Freeman to leave the scoreboard showing 11-2. However, Mogg’s effort would be the ENL Jets’ last of the night as the hosts were then on the wrong end of an onslaught that saw their guests run rampant and tally thirteen without reply.
Ryan Ellis continued to be the star performer as he claimed four more to take his record for the night to eight, whilst another hat-trick from Justin Noble, a brace from Corey Watkins and strikes from Callum Best, Tim Smith, Nicky Lewis and Daniel Fudger saw the game end 24-2.
To their credit, the ENL Jets never gave up the fight – literally in the case of Nathan Darmanin who ditched the gloves to tussle with Dynamos’ enforcer Alastair Band midway through the last.
So it was an emphatic win for the visitors and the largest of any team in the ENIHL South Division 1 this season. At near full strength, the Dynamos were too strong for a shortbenched and largely inexperienced Slough squad and they maintained a high level of intensity from start to finish to rack up a cricket score.
Man of the match honours on the night went to eight goal hero Ryan Ellis of the away side whilst battling Nathan Darmanin secured the spoils fro the ENL Jets.
From here the Dynamos now prepare for a double header weekend that begins in Brixton against Streatham next Saturday before ending back in Gillingham against the Wightlink Raiders the following evening.
